The Department of Environmental Conservation confirmed the presence of Blue-Green Algae Bloom in Albany’s Washington Park Lake this past week. The confirmation, according to the department’s website, means that “water sampling results have confirmed the presence of a blue green algae bloom which may produce toxins.” The situation in this particular lake has also been classified as “widespread,” meaning that there are “blooms affecting the entire lake, a large portion of the lake, or most to all of the shoreline.”
